The Importance of Marketing in the Event Planning Process / Solution Entertainment

Marketing is a key part of the event planning process, helping you reach the right audience, showcase value and create anticipation from the get go.

Here are five marketing tips to boost your ongoing event planning – and attendance!

1. Create a solid base before event planning

Filling a room with eager guests or attendees who are primed to soak up your brand and connect can be the toughest event-nut to crack. Unless, of course, you know that a solid brand and customer base creates the foundation to carry a successful event.

Wowing clients in a one-to-one environment, showcasing value and care, creating trust, growing a following, establishing a reputation and collecting testimonials and reviews should all happen first before events come into the picture, making them the logical next step.

2. Leverage social media

Today, event planners are garnering customer insight and feedback, creating waiting lists and pre-selling events to gauge the temperature of the market before they launch into planning. Social media is a great way to test the waters straight at the source, for example by using Instagram polls to gather feedback from your target customers and cherry-pick ideas.

3. Start an email list

An email list is the most direct line to your market during the event planning process. Email lets you serve your market and provide value to your subscribers, and you can grow your list for free by placing opt-ins wherever possible. Growing and nurturing subscribers to turn them into committed followers is key to building event anticipation and launching with a bang.

4. Consider collaborating to reach a wider audience

Collaborations aren’t just reserved for global brands, and they don’t have to cost a packet. When there are common markets and brand synergy, a local collaboration can get more eyeballs on your event and more RSVPs. Do your homework before approaching a brand to collaborate, and it might just be a match made in heaven!

5. PR it!

Just like collaborations, PR doesn’t have to come with a five or six-figure price tag. You can PR your own event by submitting a short news snippet to digital event and city guides. Ideally include an eye-catching image.

At Solution Entertainment, we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all or using a cookie-cutter approach for event planning. Every single one of our events is customised to keep you front of mind in your market. Contact our team to discuss your next event!
